Denizens will have something to look forward to with the city getting three huge shopping malls by end of next year.

SURAT: More glitter is going to be added to the diamond city, which hitherto lacked swanky shopping malls with multiplexes. Denizens will have something to look forward to with the city getting three huge shopping malls by end of next year.
The malls will house some of the biggest retailing brands in India. Ahmedabad-based JP Infrastructure Private Limited has acquired 3.50 lakh square feet of land for the one to be built on Piplod-Dumas road, while the Big Bazaar mall will come up a little down the road.Move a little further, and a mall is waiting to launch near Dumas.
Named Square One, the proposed mall claims to house two multiplexes under its roof, apart from other facilities. Sources in the town planning department of Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) say that the total cost of the three malls would be about Rs 100 crore.
The centrally air-conditioned Iskcon mall will have over 88 shops, which will include 14 escalators under one roof, a first for Gujarat. The developers claim to make shopping a world-class experience for Surtis.

JP Infrastructure director Vijay Jain says, "We are expecting tremendous growth in business in Surat." The Iskcon mall promises to acquaint the denizens with all top notch brands, which will have their own outlets there.
"Adequate parking facilities have also been provided in the basement of the mall," adds Jain. The Big Bazaar will occupy a sprawling 1.50 lakh square feet of land at Piplod-Dumas road, the construction of which is on.
The two-floor mall will have everything from provision store to garments apart from an entertainment zone, says developer Mukesh Patel.
Realtors are already hoping to see a big jump in the real estate prices on Piplod-Dumas road, with all the three coming up there. At present, the land price there is Rs 30,000 per square yard.
